Hong Kong markets and amazing views!

My friend and I adventured out on our last day to see some markets in Hong Kong. I was lucky enough to find some interesting things in the over flow of antiques and carvings. First I bought a beautiful oil painting of the markets on a rainy day. Then another item I found was a statue of three pigs. The man selling the item to me was very nice and told me I was his first customer so he would let me pick the price. He told me his dad and himself opened the tiny store not too long ago and told us all about HK.

We went up and down the tiny roads looking for fun things to buy and send to our families.

Of course we found some egg tarts during our walk around the markets.

The view from Victoria Peak was breath taking! I could of staid up there all day! It made our last night in Hong Kong complete. We knew we would miss the amazing city as soon as we left!

Visiting the Big Buddha!

My friend and I were very excited to visit the Big Buddha! Of course before we took the train to the other island we stopped by Aji Ichiban. If you don't know this amazing store it might be for the best because it's a giant candy store!!

I had yummy treats to enjoy the whole time on the train and the rest of my trip!!

Next stop was up in the cable car above the beautiful forests. It took about 30 minutes to get to the small town where the Big Budda sits.

It was amazing being able to walk up the steps and seeing the Big Budda! My friend and I even lit incense at the temple. I think anyone would enjoy visiting the island and it doesn't take too long.

Hong Kong Pub Crawl!

Since I have started traveling to different countries more than usual I've been finding these fun get togethers! My friend and I went to one in Cairns, Australia that had a double decker bus to party on and to take us to all the popular bars. This time we walked the back streets of the Hong Kong city. I highly recommend going to the pub crawls! Its fun meeting new people from around the world and going to the most popular bars in the city!

You'll have an amazing time! Check it out while in Hong Kong!

Giant Rubber Duck!

I was lucky enough to see the giant rubber duck while I was in Hong Kong. If you dont know about this piece of art, here is a small description. The art piece is done by Florentijn Hofman.
"The rubber duck knows no frontiers, it doesnt discriminate people and doesn't have a political connotation. The friendly, floating rubber duck has healing properties: it can relieve mondial tensions as well as define them. The rubber duck is soft, friendly and suitable for all ages."

My friend and I were able to see the floating duck come into the harbor from our hotel window. We took a ferry across the harbor to see him up close, it was crowded with thousands of people!!! We even saw the floating rubber duck on the front page of the Hong Kong newspaper!! Check out and see if the rubber duck is heading to your city!!

Fashion Photo Shoot!

I was asked by a photographer that lives on Guam if he could take my picture and I had no idea why (Im not that pretty). I was very excited though because the photo shoot was suppose to be about fashion and NY style. It was hard picking out some outfits because I wanted it to be perfect. This first outfit I thought would be good because the bright and patterned top with dark shorts. I wanted to be feminine but also have a sporty style. This was only one of the pictures the photographer Rich Ocampo has shown. I'll post more in the future.

Macau, the place known for history and gambling!

Macau was just an hour boat ride from Hong Kong. I was so excited to see the city but what I didn't know was that it was harder to get around. I had no idea what anything said since it was mostly Portuguese and Chinese. Thank goodness my friend knew some Portuguese and we found the Senate Square by taking the bus. (Don't take the bus if you visit!! Take a taxi).

It was packed that Friday! We were on a mission to see as much as we could before midnight since thats when the last ferry left Macau.

The St. Paul Cathedral

The city was a lot bigger than I thought it would be!

Hong Kong Love!

Hong kong gave me the love I have for the city, nationalities, fashion, food, history and art all in 5 days. I was so happy to get off my tiny island and head to another island, Hong Kong Island. This island was like a concrete jungle, so easy to get lost but thats the great thing about it. I love getting lost, thats when you find the best of things.

I was so spoiled on this trip when my friend said we'll be on the 56 floor in Conrad. This was our view which was Kowloon city, across from Hong Kong.

We had access to the executive lounge, where we went for breakfast, afternoon tea/cocktails.

We didn't waste a day when we got there. Right after we dropped our bags off at the hotel we roamed the city in search for whatever we could find.

What we ended up finding was the pet street!! Goldfish all over the street walls, and puppies in each compact store. We staid on that street for awhile looking at all the adorable animals.

Of course we had to try all the different foods they had. I smelled belgium waffles at every street corner and saw egg tarts at every stand.

This was our first night in Hong Kong and so far its one of my favorite cities.
